Ce film fait référence à la tradition des voyages à l'étranger, lors desquels les artistes mais aussi et surtout la jeunesse aristocratique et bourgeoise, se confrontent aux cultures et aux oeuvres des grands maîtres.
Ici un ensemble de tableaux allant du XIVème au XXème siècle, que j'ai pu voir lors d'un séjour à Londres. Ils sont mis en scène dans un film dont ils sont les uniques acteurs. Ils interprètent, avec des textes issus des oeuvres ou de leur entourage, une "d'épopée" muette.

The film refers to the traditionof traveling abroad, in which the artists but also and especially the aristocratic and youth bourgeois admire the culture and works of great masters.
Here a group of paintings from the fourteenth to the twentieth century, I could see during a stay in London. They are presented in a film which they are the only players. They interpret, with texts from the works or their entourage, a "epic" silent film.
